 goings-on in obes-land by Ian
After all the hubub surrounding the late-October release of Let's Decompose and Enjoy Assembling, the Obes have been keeping a pretty low profile. Perhaps it was simply a necessary respite from all that publicity (which was absolutely wonderful). Or maybe we fell collectively into one of those grey-skies-induced winter slides. Or maybe we're just lazy and a unmotivated. At any rate, I think I can speak for the band in saying, we're ready to use the new year as a kick-us-in-the-ass motivator to put ourselves out there a little more. Here's a quick glimpse of what we've got in the works ...
We've just confirmed a couple winter/spring shows that we're super-excited about -- KBGA's End-of-Radiothon Party on February 24, and April 18 at the Loft with Small Sails and Purrbot. Check out the shows page for more info.
We're also working on putting together a late-March tour that will hopefully be taking us to Seattle, Portland, and Spokane, Bozeman, and perhaps another as-yet-undetermined Montana town.
Finally, although practices have been a little few and far between, several new tunes are in the works, which we're jazzed to start working on in earnest. And we're pretty sure you'll be excited to hear them, too!
